Jeff has long since forgotten everything he learned from 6 years of classical piano training – except that ‘every good boy deserves fudge’. His heroes – Alex Van Halen and John Bonham – called upon him to play something a little louder.
So, in 1982 he joined his first rock band in Stillwater, OK, as a drummer playing Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and Cheap Trick (!?) covers. After scouring the Tulsa pawnshops for the right kit, Jeff found the 1968 Psychadelic Red Ludwig Classic drum set that he still plays today.
In 1990, Jeff co-founded The Position Ridiculous, a band that played original tunes throughout D/FW for several years. TPR won the Dallas Songwriters Association’s award for Best Band, and their song "Woodstock Dove" was played numerous times on Q102’s famous Texas Tapes.
Jeff joined Shig Shag in 2000 after the previous drummer spontaneously combusted onstage. The remaining band members were then forced to turn their volume knobs to "11" to accommodate Jeff’s playing style.
When not gigging, Jeff spends his free time with his wife, Tricia, and their daughters Audrey and Madison.
