Bass, Vocals
After years of counseling to correct the psychological scars caused by schoolyard name taunting, Bart decided to engage in a little musical therapy.
In 1984, while a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, he co-founded the power-pop quintet "The Risk" (a.k.a. "The Risk to Your Hearing"). When the band imploded six months and one gig later (not, as sometimes reported, due to Bart's decidedly non-metronomic drumming), Bart pursued other interests for about a decade, occasionally strumming a six-string on his front porch swing.
Hooking up with some like-minded neophytes in 1996, he strapped on a bass guitar (never mind knowing how one worked) and co-founded haggis, a Dallas rock and pop institution (well, at least that's where the band members belonged).
In 2000, that band morphed into the current juggernaut Shig Shag, of which Bart is very proud to play a minor role (primarily lugging gear).
